Conclave 2008
| It's time for a change. Year after year I've featured
row after row of pictures of row after row of LBC's from the Conclave. This
year we'll see different LBC's in a different light. They're out in the rain
and cold. They're wet and dirty. The lights might be on. The engines are
running. These cars are being driven! We often talk about using LBC's for
daily drivers and the dislike of "trailer queens". Except for the race cars
that are not legal for street use, here are the LBC's of the Conclave far
away from the trailers--out of the garage, away from the museums, and being
driven on city streets. Enjoy. |
| In the pictures above, the silver-gray Bug-eyed
Sprite with number 04 belongs to BMCNC member Ron Randolph. The blue TR at
the end of the second row of pictures is a TR8. That's BMCNC member Richard
Fritz driving the white Rolls Royce from the Tebo Collection, formerly owned
by John Lennon. |
| That's Jim and Wadene Hall waving from their Land
Rover. Their son brought several can of soup for the lunch, which was
wonderful considering the chilly rainy weather. |
Some of the race cars weren't started because of the
loud exhaust. In this case, the young lady steers while the men push the car
into the show.
|
Here's one you don't see very often. |
| The next to last picture above is Mark and Joanna
Hanna. Mark retired recently and was able to devote his time to getting the
Bug-eyed Sprite finished. They sold their Midget. |
Here is the car rotisserie on display by "reinCARnation", a restoration company. |
It was at this point, right after this Triumph Stag, that my camera broke and
the pictures ended. I talked with another photographer and thought I had the
problem fixed, but, the problem returned just in time for the Oil Spot Rallye. I
hope you enjoyed all these pictures.
