Welcome to the website for Ken Thompson, Certified Notary Signing Agent. This is my fourth year as a signing agent and I have performed over 400 signings for refinances. About a dozen of those signings were in Spanish for Spanish-speaking borrowers. Before becoming a signing agent, I was a foreign language teacher in public schools for 15 years and speak both Spanish and German fluently. I also hold a real estate broker's license for Colorado and have been affiliated with Keller Williams Realty of Northern Colorado.
I enjoy doing loan signings and take pride in presenting every document as accurately as possible. I enjoy traveling and consider the drive to the borrower's home to be a fringe benefit. Before going to a signing, I always call the borrower ahead of time and introduce myself and explain the loan signing process, and there is never a problem going to a strange home.
I always carry with me my Canon digital Rebel SLR camera which I use to copy ID's. This camera provides a printout of ID's that is as good as or better than a photocopy and very easy to read. This makes the process of collecting ID's very simple and the borrower is not bothered with needing to go get copies made.
The geographic area that I can cover as a signing agent includes all of eastern Colorado north of US36 and the north
central mountains. This includes the counties of:

I grew up in a small town
in Kansas where my father worked as a carpenter, so I feel right at home when doing signings
in the rural areas of Colorado. In the early 1980's I worked in real estate advertising for United Farm Agency,
a nationwide company based in Kansas City. We dealt with farms, ranches, acreages and commercial
properties as well as some urban residential real estate. In 2003 I became a real estate broker in Colorado and
during 2004 spent several months affiliated with Keller Williams Realty of Northern Colorado. From 1972 to
1976 I attended college at Phillips
University, Enid, Ok, and hold a Bachelor of Science degree as a Spanish
teacher. From 1985 to 1998 I taught Spanish and German at the middle school
level in Ft Morgan, Colorado. I have also held various jobs such as working as
an international telephone operator and doing telephone surveys in Spanish. In
addition to that I hold a degree in Information Technology. My
son, Geoff Thompson is 25 and enjoys working on computers. My daughter,
Heather, 19, is a Sophomore at Aims Community College in Greeley. For hobbies, I'm a classical guitarist and
member of the Classical Guitar Society of Northern Colorado and the Denver
Classical Guitar Society. I also enjoy sports cars and own a 1974 MGB and
a 1990 Miata. For 4 years I have been webmaster for the British Motoring Club of Northern Colorado.
I also designed and maintain a commercial website for British sports cars at www.motorwayltd.com
