After the Fort Collins Tea Party, I drove down to the Loveland Tea Party which started at 4 pm that same afternoon. In this case, the people just lined up along the intersection. There wasn't any stage or any way to give speeches, although the organizer had a bullhorn that he used to make a few announcements. Again, the first pictures were the crowd forming. By about 5 pm there was a huge crowd, maybe 500 or more people. I made my way through the crowd taking lots of pictures. I met a couple of other photographers who were there taking pictures too!

This last picture had my favorite of all the slogans, so I enlarged it and made an insert so you can read it easier.

The whole point of the tea parties was to protest high taxation. The Bush tax cuts are scheduled to expire at the end of 2010, which means that taxes business and corporations will go up by 20 and 30 percent. To read my essay on taxation, click here.
Another main purpose in the tea parties was to protest the socialization of America. All of these people do NOT want to convert to Socialism. They believe that things can be handled better by the private sector and that government, as the great Ronald Reagan said, "government is not the solution, but rather the cause of the problems."
Another main purpose in the tea parties was to protest nationalized health care. It doesn't work. These people don't want to have a failed system forced on them. For my essay on nationalized health care, click here.
Stay tuned, there's more to come.
